Dr. Yaa McDonald
(PEDIATRIC DENTIST)
Dr. Yaa McDonald received her undergraduate degree in the biological sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and then completed a Doctorate in Dental Medicine degree (DMD) at Southern Illinois University. Following her doctorate, she completed a two-year residency in Pediatric Dentistry, obtaining both a specialty certificate and a Master of Dental Science from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. During residency, Dr. McDonald was awarded the Graduate Student Research Award for her outstanding master’s thesis research on the periodontal ligament stem cells of human deciduous teeth.

Dr. Shilpa Joshi is a native to the Chicago Suburbs, growing up in Wheaton, IL. She completed her undergraduate training from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (GO ILLINI!) with Bachelor’s degrees in Pyschology & Integrative Biology, minoring in Spanish. She went on to attend Midwestern University in Downers Grove and received a Masters of Arts in Biomedical Sciences followed by a Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD).

Dr. Aliyah Wilson is a board-eligible, pediatric dentist passionate about creating positive, confidence-boosting dental experiences and transforming children's outlook on oral health. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Xavier University of Louisiana, her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Marquette University School of Dentistry, and completed her Pediatric Dentistry Residency at the University of Illinois Chicago.

Dr. Sara Day has been with Joyful Smiles since 2021 and has enjoyed watching our patients grow throughout the years! Originally from rural, northwestern Illinois, Dr. Day attended Lewis University in Romeoville, IL as an undergraduate and Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. Following graduation, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency, where her favorite rotation was pediatric dentistry! Dr. Day is an active member of the American Dental Association.
